The
project Beata Beatrix is born in September 2000 from an idea
of the actual bass player, Crowley.
In January 2001 there was the first change in the set up;
the guitarist Ricy joins the band and, after few months, the
keyboardist girl leaves, and there is the change of the drummer
(who will leave the band after the recording of the first
CD).
In May 2002 there was the last and definite changing; Hatria
substitutes the previous singer. The music of Beata Beatrix
besides undergoing the influx of the various components (Ricy
comes from an experience of progressive rock; Hatria has sung
both lyrical music than blues and Crowley has played rock
of the 80’s) take its cue from the Romantic Period which
invested Europe in the XIX century. The name of the band is
already meaningful in itself (Beata Beatrix is one of the
most significant picture of Dante Gabriel Rossetti, a well
known English, Pre-Raphaelite painter), the CD “elisheba”
proposes itself like a concept, each single track is part
of the Beata Beatrix and of the sad story that has created
it (Elizabeth Siddal, wife of Rossetti, killed herself with
a laudanum flower because of a stark depression caused by
the conception of a child al ready dead.)
The band is so composed:
Hatria:
voice, chorus and words
Crowley:
bass, music
Ricy:
guitar, music, programming
